Bringing a range of knowledge from technology to architecture, Izak “Zique” hopes to utilize that knowledge to fulfill EcoponicX’s vision. Seeking to bring food gardens to Honolulu’s urban spaces Zique began his professional journey by obtaining a BA in Urban Design in 2013 at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, where he and Ame met. During that time he provided design services to a local homeless shelter who was looking to start a rooftop garden. Traveling to Boston to gain further insights he realized that computer science could also help in that vision through machine learning and artificial intelligence. Gaining a new skill set with family support he obtained a degree in Software Engineering from Bunker Hill Community College. From there, he continued to hone his craft in the health industry as a Software Engineer and as a Data Engineer at OpenClinica, LLC. In those roles he helped maintain electronic data capture software and provided data transformation services.

Combining software and architectural design, Zique brings all the benefits that each field has to offer to EcoponicX.
